Weekend Roundup: Predictions, Shockers & Last-Minute Drama
We were treated to a thrilling weekend of action across both the Premiership and Championship. For AwayDay users, this was a gameweek that tested prediction prowess—delivering big wins, surprise scorelines, and one or two jaw-dropping finishes.
⚽ Dundee 3 – 4 Rangers: A Goal-Fest No One Saw Coming
Many users backed Rangers to win at Ibrox, but few could’ve predicted the rollercoaster that unfolded. Down 3–2 in the dying moments, Cyeran Dessers managed to find his shooting boots to step up with a late winner.
Over 75% of users went for a home win, but no one forecast a high-scoring affair with seven goals.
A reminder: always expect the unexpected.
🍀 Celtic 3 – 0 Hearts: A Clean Sweep That Delivered
This one was a favourite among the prediction crowd, with almost 50% of users nailing the 3–0 scoreline. Daizen Maeda, the man of the moment, struck early and set the tone.
Celtic’s dominant form continues, and so does Maeda’s campaign for Player of the Year—with 30 goals and counting.
🟥 Championship Shocker: Wanyama’s Wild Return
It was the return no one could’ve scripted. Ex-Celtic midfielder Victor Wanyama made his Dunfermline debut… and was sent off after just 19 minutes for a handball.
Ayr United capitalised, storming to a 3–0 win.
📊 Other Notables
St. Mirren 5 – 1 Kilmarnock
A tidy win for the Buddies, with nobody predicting more than 3 goals total in the fixture.Aberdeen 4 – 1 Motherwell
Most users backed Aberdeen to win, but no one could foresee the Dons scoring more than 3 goals.Ayr United 3 – 0 Dunfermline
An unhappy return to Scottish football for Lennon and his marquee signing, pushing Ayr back to second in the Championship.
