Final Pre-Split Fixtures: Who Will Make the Top Six?
The final round of Premiership matches before Scotland's top flight splits will decide who ends up in the top six—and who has a battle on their hands to avoid a relegation play-off in the bottom half.
Going into the weekend, Hearts, St Mirren, and Motherwell all have a shot at a top-half finish. That makes the clash at Fir Park, where Motherwell host the Jambos, an incredibly high-stakes fixture.
St Mirren will be hoping for a draw there—while taking care of business at home against Ross County. With just four points separating sixth-placed Hearts from 11th-placed Dundee, anyone missing the top six still has it all to play for in the run-in.
🏆 Lower League Titles Up for Grabs
In the Championship, leaders Falkirk host third-placed Ayr United on Friday night. Victory would put one hand on the trophy for the Bairns, and if Livingston fail to win at Morton on Saturday, Falkirk would seal a long-awaited return to the top flight.
In League One, Arbroath already hold an 11-point lead over Cove Rangers and Stenhousemuir. With the latter visiting Gayfield in the evening kick-off, a win would secure the title regardless of other results. A draw might even be enough if Cove fail to beat Dumbarton.
Meanwhile in League Two, we’ve got the closest title race in the SPFL. Peterhead are just four points ahead of East Fife with four games to play. The Blue Toon host Spartans, while East Fife travel to Bonnyrigg Rose, who are running out of time in their relegation fight.
At the bottom, Bonnyrigg look likely to face the winner of the pyramid play-off between East Kilbride (Lowland League) and the Highland League champions—still to be decided between Brora Rangers and Brechin City this weekend.
