Weekend Preview: Battles Across the Divisions Heat Up
As teams begin to figure out which side of the Scottish Premiership split they’ll land on, the stakes are rising. With promotion, play-off places, and survival all on the line, this weekend's fixtures are shaping up to be season-defining.
⚔️ Premiership Stakes at Dens Park
Dundee vs St Mirren is one to watch. The Buddies could temporarily climb into sixth place with a win in the City of Discovery, tightening their grip on a top-six finish.
For Dundee, a win could be vital in the fight to avoid the relegation play-off. Victory would give them breathing room from bottom side St Johnstone—who face the daunting task of taking on champions-elect Celtic.
🔄 Championship Hope Hangs in the Balance
At Stark’s Park, Raith Rovers vs Ayr United has big implications. A loss for Raith could all but end their bid for a promotion play-off spot, potentially opening up a nine-point gap to Partick Thistle with just four games remaining.
Ayr’s title hopes may be slim, but a top-two finish—and the quarter-final play-off bye that comes with it—is still within reach. Livingston are the main threat, but every point matters now.
🏆 Arbroath Closing in on League One Title
Arbroath are on the brink of an immediate return to the second tier. A win over Montrose this weekend could see them go 11 points clear at the top if both Cove Rangers and Stenhousemuir drop points.
Montrose, however, are finding form. They’ve pulled away from the relegation zone and are now just three points off the promotion play-off spots—momentum is on their side.
🔥 League Two: Top Meets Bottom
It’s a weekend of extremes as the top two face the bottom two. Leaders Peterhead saw their lead shrink to just one point over East Fife last time out, keeping the title race on a knife edge.
Meanwhile, Forfar Athletic’s resurgence continues. Ten points from their last five matches have lifted them above Bonnyrigg Rose, who were deducted six points earlier this season. With better goal difference and a three-point cushion, Forfar are making their case for survival—while time is running out for Bonnyrigg.
