Top-Six Drama and Title Clashes Set the Stage

Top-Six Drama and Title Clashes Set the Stage

While the top of the Scottish Premiership looks fairly set in stone — and St Johnstone still needing a miracle to escape the foot of the table — the real action is in the race for the top six.

Hearts and Dundee United currently occupy those final top-half spots, but United are second-bottom in the form table, just ahead of city rivals Dundee, who beat them before the break. This Sunday, Ross County host United in a massive clash. A home win could close the gap to three points and throw St Mirren into the top-six conversation with two games left before the split.

It's not unthinkable that we could see just six points separating third and ninth by this time next week — pure unpredictability.

Championship Spotlight: Neil Lennon's Return

A reduced Championship schedule still offers plenty of intrigue. Ayr United host Dunfermline Athletic, with new Pars boss Neil Lennon taking charge for the first time. Ayr could jump above Livingston into the play-off semi-final spots, while a win for Dunfermline — coupled with a Hamilton slip-up — could lift them out of the relegation play-off zone.

League One: Title Clash at Gayfield

It's a proper six-pointer in League One as leaders Arbroath welcome second-placed Cove Rangers. With all three contenders — including Stenhousemuir — drawing their last two, this weekend could be decisive. A defeat for Cove might end their title hopes, while Arbroath look to stretch their unbeaten run and keep control of their destiny.

League Two: East Fife Hanging On

In League Two, title momentum has swung wildly — but East Fife need to arrest their slide. Just one win in six has seen them overtaken by Peterhead, and a tough fixture against play-off hopefuls Spartans could seal their fate. A Peterhead win over Forfar would give the Blue Toon one hand on the trophy if East Fife slip up again.
